NFL Week 14 - Thursday Night Preview

Oakland Raiders (10-2) @ Kansas City Chiefs (9-3) - Arrowhead Stadium

It's a Thursday Night blockbuster as the Raiders visit Kansas City with AFC supremacy up for grabs. The Raiders are riding 6 game winning streak with their last loss coming against the Chiefs back in Oakland in Week 6. On a rainy day the Raiders and Derek Carr were shut down by the Kansas City defence in a comprehensive 26-10 loss. The Chiefs have gained two hugely impressive victories of late by beating Denver in Denver before beating the high flying Falcons in Atlanta. While both teams are likely to make the playoffs crucial home field advantage could be at stake here in one of the games of the season. 

Verdict - Raiders 27 Chiefs 26

Maybe this is more a bit from the heart then the head but I am going for the Raiders to cause another upset. I still like the matchup of Derek Carr against Alex Smith, I think Carr has way more explosive plays in him. The Chiefs have dominated the Raiders in head to head match ups of late winning their past 3. However the heavy rain in Oakland last start really did not suit the Raiders offence and I expect this gamete be far tighter.
