NFL Week 10 - Sunday Preview Part 1

Green Bay Packers (4-4) @ Tennessee Titans (4-5) - Nissan Stadium

There are some big question marks over The Packers playoff chances as they head to Tennessee to take on the Titans. Green Bay are behind the surprising Lions and Vikings in the NFC North, having slumped to two straight losses, including a shock loss to the Colts at home last week. The Titans remain right in the thick of the playoff race in a muddling NFC South, and will be looking to capitalise on the Packers' road woes here.

Verdict - Packers 30 Titans 24

I don't know if I like this pick at all, however I will stick with the ailing Packers. Surely they would be stinging fresh from a terrible performance at home against the Colts. The Titans have been competitive at home this year, so I expect this game to be tight and high scoring.

Denver Broncos (6-3) @ New Orleans Saints (4-4) - Superdome

The Broncos will be looking to bounce back from a nightmare defeat to rivals Oakland when they visit the Superdome to take on the Saints. The Broncos surrendered control of the AFC West to their bitter rivals last week as the Raiders pounded them 30-20 in Oakland. Denver's running game was abysmal, rushing for only 39 yards. The Saints are right back in the playoff race, just one game behind Atlanta in the NFC South. The Saints have won their past 2 home games and might fancy getting at a patched up Broncos defence.

Verdict - Saints 31 Broncos 20

I think New Orleans can cause somewhat of an upset here and beat the Broncos at their indoor dome. At this minute the Broncos are a little banged up and I think the Saints are a high powered offense led by Drew Brees at home. This is a risky tip as the Broncos have by far the better overall roster.

Los Angeles Rams (3-5) @ New York Jets (3-6) - MetLife Stadium

It's a battle of two struggling teams here as the Rams head to MetLife Stadium to take on the ailing Jets. The Rams, after a proving 3-1 start, have dropped their last 4 games and appear a team in free fall. Arguably this game is a match up between the two worst quarterbacks currently in the league in Case Keenum of the Rams and Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Jets. Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown 13 picks this year whilst Case Keenum has managed 11.

Verdict  - Jets 21 Rams 14

I fancy the Jets here because they are at home in the battle of two really bad teams. The Rams' early season form was never going to stack up behind such an anaemic offense and the wheels have really fallen off the last few weeks as the pressure intensifies on coach Jeff Fisher to play number 1 pick in the draft Jared Goff.

Atlanta Falcons (6-3) @ Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) - Lincoln Financial Field

It's the battle of the big birds as the Falcons travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles on Sunday. The Falcons have a one and a half game lead at the top of the NFC South after back-to-back victories against the Packers and Buccaneers in the last two weeks. The Eagles' season has taken a turn for the worse as they have now lost 4 of their past 5 games to sit in last place in a very competitive NFC East this season.

Verdict - Falcons 30 Eagles 21

I think the Falcons' form is legitimate and they are in the top 4 or 5 teams in the NFL this year. The Eagles have some notable home scalps including the Vikings and Steelers, so this game will be no walk in the park for Atlanta. However, I just think the Falcons' offense is so high powered and they have too many points in them for the Eagles with Matt Ryan playing at an MVP type level.

Chicago Bears (2-6) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5) - Raymond James Stadium

Both the Bears and Bucs will be looking to keep their extremely faint playoffs chances alive as they battle it out at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday. The Bucs are coming off damaging back-to-back home losses against the Raiders and Falcons. The Bucs' defence has looked horrible the past two weeks giving up a combined 73 points and over 1000 yards of offence. The Bears are coming off a bye and their best performance of the season in a home 20-10 win over arch rival the Vikings.

Verdict - Bears 24 Bucs 20

Going for an upset here as I think Jay Cutler might be able to pick apart a Tampa defence that looks in free fall right now. Tampa are a complete mess at home, having won just 3 of their last 20 games at Raymond James Stadium.

Minnesota Vikings (5-3) @ Washington Redskins (4-3-1) - FedEx Field

The Vikings will be looking to rebound from 3 straight losses when they head to Washington to take on the Redskins. The Vikings were shocked 22-16 in overtime last week at home to the Lions in a game that could huge ramifications for their playoff chances in a bunched NFC North. The Redskins are in 3rd place in the NFC East and really need a victory here after a costly tie in London against the Bengals.

Verdict - Redskins 27 Vikings 14

Taking the Redskins with confidence here. The Vikings' offense appears to be falling apart behind a terrible offensive line and Sam Bradford's ailing confidence. The Redskins are a tough side to beat at home and they look to have far too many points in them for the Vikings here.
