NFL Week 6 - Sunday Preview Part 2

San Fransisco 49ers (1-4) @ Buffalo Bills (3-2) - New Era Field

The suddenly surging Buffalo Bills get the opportunity to make it four wins in a row when they take on the struggling 49ers on Sunday at home. In the past three wins, the Bills have excelled in their running game averaging over 170 yards per game on the ground at over 5 yards per carry. The Bills' defence has also come alive and they will be looking to feast on Colin Kaepernick who makes his first start of the season for the 49ers at quarterback. Kaepernick's star has fallen fast since he led the 49ers to back-to- back NFC Title games and a Super Bowl loss back in 2013.

Verdict - Bills 30 49ers 10

The 49ers had to bring back Kaepernick for the ineffective Blaine Gabbert. However I just think this is the wrong time for them to be meeting Buffalo, who appear to be hitting their straps. I expect Kaepernick to be under pressure from the get go here as Buffalo get their 4th win on the bounce in convincing fashion.

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-3) @ Chicago Bears (1-4) - Solider Field

The struggling Jaguars and Bears meet at Solider Field with both teams looking for any kind of momentum to kick start their seasons. Brian Hoer has made a big case that he should remain the starting quarterback ahead of the injured Jay Cutler by having three straight games of 300 yards without an interception. The Jaguars are coming off a bye after they survived a late Colts rally to win their first game of the season at Wembley in London.

Verdict - Jaguars 28 Bears 24

I hate tipping Jacksonville, because they always seem to let me down! However they are in a weak division in the AFC South, so even at 1-3 their season remains very much alive and they desperately need this game against the Bears. The Bears did win their last home game, however their record at Solider field the past couple of seasons has been appalling.

Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) @ Washington Redskins (3-2) - FedEX Field

A key division match up awaits here as the Eagles visit the surging Redskins at FedEX Field. The Redskins have rebounded from an 0-2 hole to win 3 close matches against the Giants, Browns and Ravens to kick start their season. The Eagles suffered a surprise first loss of the season in Detroit with rookie quarterback Carson Wentz throwing his first interception of the year to end the game.

Verdict - Redskins 24 Eagles 23

Going with somewhat of an upset here and the Redskins to squeeze out a crucial home win. I think Kirk Cousins can play well in this game and put the Eagles defence on the back foot. While Carson Wentz has had a stellar start to the season, it will be interesting to see how he rebounds from his first loss and first interceptions, particularly with another road game first up.

Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) @ Oakland Raiders (4-1) - Oakland Coliseum

The surging Oakland Raiders look to maintain first place in the AFC West they they host bitter rivals the Chiefs on Sunday. The Raiders are 4-1 for the first since 2002, the year they last went to the Super Bowl. While their is a lot of hype around the Raiders and Derek Carr is playing at a very high level the defence continues to be big concern being ranked last for yards allowed in the NFL. The Chiefs are coming off a bye after a 43-14 spanking in Pittsburgh and need a win here to stay in touch in the West. Andy Reid has a remarkable record coming off a ye week being 15-2 in his career.

Verdict - Chiefs 26 Raiders 24

As a Raiders fan I am very worried about this game. This team has won a lot of 50-50 games this year and if they keep giving up big plays eventually it is going to come back and bit them. The Chiefs have a good recent record agains the Raiders and I expect them to come out firing off a bye.

Dallas Cowboys (4-1) @ Green Bay Packers (3-1) - Lambeau Field

It's an early season blockbuster here in Green Bay as the high flying Cowboys ride into town to take on the Packers. The Cowboys have won 4 straight games behind rookie quarterback Dak Presscott and rookie running bak Ezekial Elliott. Prescott is proving mature way beyond his years and his 155 passes without an interception is an NFL record for a rookie. The Packers are 3-1 however something does not quite seem right in Green Bay. In their wins over the Jaguars, Lions and Giants The offense and Aaron Rodgers have been well below their best. Rodgers threw a rare 2 interceptions last week at home as the Packers were made to settle for a heap of field goals in beating the Giants.

Verdict - Packers 30 Cowboys 21

Well I picked the Packers for the Super Bowl in the pre season I am not liking that pick right now, Maybe with them facing a quality opponent here they can wake up and start playing the high flying offence they are capable of. Whenever the Cowboys have been on the verge of something the past few years something goes wrong, so I am tipping Green Bay to lift here and pull off a win.

Atlanta Falcons (4-1) @ Seattle Seahawks (3-1) - CenturyLink Field

The flying Falcons look to continue their stunning ealry season form when they head to Seattle to take on the resurgent Seahawks. The Falcons offense has been all conquering this season ranking first in points and yards. Matt Ryan is playing at an elite level however coming into Seattle is the toughest test in the NFL for any quarterback. The Seahawks allow the least yards in the NFL so this makes for a fascinating matchup between statistically the best offence and defence in the NFL.

Verdict - Falcons 27 Seahawks 21

I'm a believer in offense in the NFL so I am sticking with the Falcons here even as a road under dog. I still think Seattle despite being 3-1 have had a relatively soft fixture and that might come back to bite them here against a team in red hot form against decent opposition.

Indianapolis Colts (2-3) @ Houston Texans (3-2) - NRG Stadium

The Colts and Texans clash in an a muddling AFC South divisional matchup on Sunday Night Football in Houston. The Colts were have been unconvincing all year and despite averaging over 27 points per game and Andre Luck throwing 10 touchdowns he has been sacked an alarming 20 times already. While the Texans are 3-2 big money off season recruit Brock Osweiler has played some very ordinary football at quarterback with only 2 quarterbacks throwing more interceptions so far this season.

Verdict - Colts 22 Texans 21

Going for an upset here and the Colts to jag a road win. I just think they they have by far the better quarterback in this match up and that has to count for something in this league. The AFC South is the worst division in football and 8 or 9 wins could easily win this division this season I feel.
